The whole point of Mel is that we remember things so you don’t have to. Here’s how we look after what we remember.
What we keep
Your contact details, your membership details, and the useful things you tell us — preferences, family context, home details, past requests. We keep them so the whole team can pick up your conversation without asking you the same question twice.
Where it lives
Your WhatsApp conversations run through the official WhatsApp Business Platform with data processing agreements in place, hosted in the EU. Your member profile lives in our own systems with access limited to the Mel team. Nothing lives on anyone’s personal phone.
What we’ll never do
Sell your information. Share it with suppliers beyond what’s needed to arrange your request. Message you with marketing unless you’ve said yes to that — service messages come with membership; everything else is opt-in, and opting out is one word.
Your rights
Ask us any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — we’ll do it across every system, and we do it automatically for lapsed members after a defined period. Under GDPR you also have the right to complain to the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, though we’d rather you told us first.
